The Mars Volta 'Octahedron' Review

Early releases from these guys were sometimes a little difficult to get stuck into, their penchant for spazzing out on their instruments could make the ears bleed. But the boys from At The Drive-In have toned things down and added a few sprinkles of accessibility.

The result is pleasing - not watered down and rubbish but a solid album of big, experimental rock tunes that push the boundaries without being inaudibly mental. Give it a go if you're feeling fruity.
